We've always known we had a good idea, and now we have proof: knock-offs of the Trigger are appearing on the market. Some are claiming to be us, while others are claiming to be better, but they're all just wannabe's. Only the Green Light Trigger can truthfully say that it was designed by someone with an engineering background for the sole purpose of triggering traffic lights. We're the first
The Green Light Trigger has been on the market for almost two years longer than our first competitor. Two separate patents have been granted by the US Patent Office, #7,026,955 and #7,330,132 covering the signal cycler concept as well as the flux isolation design. We invented this technology. Like all similar passive triggering devices, the Trigger is legal in all 50 states, partly because we paved the way. In 2003, the Illinois State Legislature passed a law outlawing active devices such as the MIRT, and language was written into the law specifically exempting the Green Light Trigger and similar devices. The Green Light Trigger is the one and only original. Don't settle for cheap knock-offs that may be ineffective.
We're the best
Believe it or not, we've put a lot of thought and consideration in choosing our magnets for the Original and HP models of the Green Light Trigger. We made sure to buy from a manufacturer who can put the most magnetic force into the material. We also use larger magnets than the other guys. Our Original Trigger has a face-polarized ceramic magnet, specifically chosen to create as much interference with the detector loop field for a low cost. Our new HP model is made up of neodymium and boron rare earth metals which make it quite a bit stronger and more effective. But our superior magnets are just the beginning. The Trigger's ABS housing has a number of advantages: 1) it protects the magnet from road debris which is especially important for the original model because ceramic is a brittle material. 2) it makes for a better mount to the bike, and 3) it actually makes the Trigger work better. Notice the fins on the cover. We call these "flux isolation fins" and they're one reason our Green Light Trigger works better than anything else out there. They keep the magnetic field from collapsing into the bike's frame. This means that you get an optimum amount of magnetic force directed at the road, where the sensor is.
